About the ER-6i and Etymotic Research

All of Etymotic's products are for the ear. They have developed everything from high fidelity hearing aid integrated circuits to high fidelity hearing protection. What makes them unique is their combination of expertise in electroacoustics and hearing science. Scientists, engineers, and audiologists working together have generated over 100 patents. The audiologists in particular bring an in-depth knowledge of how people hear and how that will affect earphone performance. Advanced Communications Solutions have become the music industry’s preferred supplier of custom-moulded hearing protectors and in-ear-monitors providing products to the likes of The Fratellis, U2, Stereophonics and Travis. ACS personal audio products are individually hand-built from non-allergenic, medical grade silicone lacquered with an anti bacterial coating using steritouch to provide extreme comfort and durability. ACS were the first to use silicones in preference to the acrylic and vinyl materials still used today by most other monitor manufacturers.

With the ACS mould the custom seal achieved reduces the outside noise allowing for a safer, lower listening volume from the source whilst at the same time providing comfortable wearing for long periods of time.
